From the 17th to the 21st of May 2016, the University of Koblenz-Landau will host a one-week workshop on mathematical modeling. A group of 20-25 PhD students, jointly with teachers and experts, coming from MODCLIM project partner universities and african universities, will work during this week on several applied problems, some of which are the following:

  • Extracting information from data: Principal component analysis, robustness, and outlier detection.
  • Super-resolution recovery of video imaging through turbulence.
  • Modeling paper coating with SPH.
  • Modifying quickest flow problems to obtain realistic evacuation paths.

The workshop opening starts on Tuesday, 17th of May, at 9:00 a.m. in room G-310 (Building G, third floor). After the inauguration, each instructor will present the topics to be developed in specific workshops along the week.
