The MODCLIM International Dissemination Seminar will take place at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wrocław, Poland, on the 13th of September 2016, in the framework of the Erasmus Plus – Strategic Partnerships Program, funded by the European Commission through the Education Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency.
The strategic objective of the partnership is to make effective use of the pool of special expertise and experience in the network. Problems of industrial mathematics are multidisciplinary even within mathematics itself. Combining skills and interaction between groups is often a key to solutions.
For the past two years, the MODCLIM (Modeling Clinic for Industrial Mathematics) project has developed and integrated a research-training course and a problem-solving workshop, on a yearly basis, for the challenging mathematical and computational problems from industry and applied sciences.
MODCLIM is a research-training program consisting of three parts:
1. Research training school of two weeks, where four compact courses are conveyed, each concentrating on a specific area of applied mathematics and where the emphasis is or the link between mathematical and computational methods and real world applications.
2. Online project assignment which will be carried out as group work using internet, skype etc.
3. A problem-solving workshop (Modelling Clinic, Study Group) of one week where a number of real problems of industrial mathematics are presented and MODCLIM students are working in teams on the given problems.
In accordance to the aforementioned, the main objective of the MODCLIM International Dissemination Seminar is to disseminate the results of these Training Schools and the Problem Solving workshops amongst the media, university community, scientific community, the industrial sector as well as other institutions.

Travel:
There are many direct flights from most European cities to Wroclaw. Taxi from the Wroclaw Airport to the city center and university campus shouldn't cost more than 10-12 Euro (40-50 Polish zloty) in working days, a little bit more in weekend. You can take also a public-transport bus No 406 from the airport to get the railway station situated in the city center (it takes about 35 minutes and costs 3 Polish zloty; more info on the tickets http://www.wroclaw.pl/en/ticket-types-and-prices)
You can consider also flights to Berlin. There are cheap bus connections between Wroclaw and Berlin airports by e.g. Polish Bus http://www.polskibus.com/en/index.htm and VIP Europa http://www.vip-europa.pl/?lang=3 companies.
Transportation in the city of Wroclaw is by bus, tram or taxi. The city center is generally within walking distance from the university campus. Here is a public transport route planner http://www.wroclaw.pl/en/public-transport-route-planner. Normal tickets are 3PLN per ride and can be bought with credit card on each tram or bus. There are also ticket for 30-90 minutes, 24 hours etc. Ticket for a ride needs to be stamped/cancelled in a separate machine (not the vending machine) to be valid. Close to the campus there is a multi-bus/tram stop named most Grunwaldzki, and down the street, at the nearby R. Reagan roundabout, there is a big public transportation hub plac Grunwaldzki (see kampus_map.png). From here you can typically get to anywhere in the city within one hour.
